Now, if you have not yet jumped on the digital bandwagon, you might wonder what this means for you? Well, it could mean any number of things, but lets discuss the most general possibilities first.

First of all, are you currently using a digital or analog tv set? If you are using a digital tv set, then this will really not matter to you at all…..you will just notice better picture, an absence of static, and the occurrence of some “lag” if your antenna or tv tuner is not picking up the full signal.

However, if you are using an analog tv set, then you are going to need a digital converter box to get incoming digital tv signals. This box simply gets hooked to your antenna, and then to your tv set. Basically, it takes the digital signal and makes it usable to all of you who have analog Tvs.

A lot of people have been wondering if moving vehicles, such as planes or automobiles, have an impact on the digital tv signal. Well, actually, they do. Passing cars or airplanes that fly overhead can cause breaks in the signal, or can even wipe out the signal completely for a very short amount of time. If this is a regular occurrence, you should try moving your antenna to where it does not have this problem.

If it persists, you can usually buy an outdoor antenna and improve your reception drastically. If you continue to have problems with traffic, even after buying a better antenna and adjusting it, odds are that you are just in a bad location. In a case like this, you might be better off subscribing to cable or dish. No, it is not really fair, but life is not fair anyway!

Some people complain that digital tv is worse than analog tv. Well, it is true that analog tv is easier to pick up at a much lower quality, but if you can pick up digital tv, the quality is always good and it is always a perfectly clear picture.

So, in other words, while using a digital tv tuner might be a pain if you cannot get good reception, it is much better for the people who can pick it up.
